Guest Artist

The 2017 conference will feature guest artists KC Wilkerson, Will Swenson, and Set Rudetsky.

Will Swenson
Will was last seen on Broadway in Disaster!: The Musical. Prior to that he starred on Broadway as Inspector Javert in the hit revival of “Les Miserables”, “Priscilla: Queen of the Desert” (Drama League Nomination). Prior to that Will received a Tony, Drama League and Drama Desk nomination for his performance as Berger in the Broadway revival of “Hair”. He also played the role on London’s West End. Other Broadway credits include : “110 in the Shade”, “Lestat”, “ and “Brooklyn: the Musical”. Off -Broadway: “Little Miss Sunshine”, “Murder Ballad”, “Rock of Ages”, “Pericles” directed by Trevor Nunn, “…Superman”, “Two Gentlemen of Verona”, “Adrift in Macao”, “The Slugbearers of Kayrol Island”, “Camelot” with the New York Philharmonic. Tours include “Miss Saigon”, “We Will Rock You” and “Fame!” Film and Television credits: “The Switch”, “Gods Behaving Badly”, “This is Where I Leave You”. “The Good Wife”, “Law & Order”, “6 Degrees”. Will is also a film maker. His first film “Sons of Provo” about a clueless Mormon Boy-Band, which he directed, co-wrote and starred in, won several film festivals. He is married to the most talented woman who ever lived, Audra McDonald.

KC Wilkerson
KC Wilkerson is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning lighting and video designer based in southern California.
He is currently the senior lighting designer for Disney Parks & Resorts Creative Entertainment, where he leads the group responsible for the design, implementation, and programming of entertainment lighting for the Disney properties in California and Hawaii. With Disney, he has collaborated on a variety of projects, special events, concerts, tours, and themed experiences across the globe. His recent Disney projects include “Halloween Screams”, “Disneyland Forever” and “Diamond Mad T Party”.
He also designs lighting and projection for theaters across southern California where his recent credits include, “Songs for a New World”, “The Laramie Project Cycle”, “West Side Story”, “A Man of No Importance”, “There’s One In Every Marriage”, “Jekyll & Hyde”, “The Who’s Tommy”, “The Secret Garden”, “Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter”, and “Merrily We Roll Along”.
Awards include two LA Drama Critics Circle Awards (Lighting Design and Video Design), LA Stage Alliance Ovation Honors Award (Video Design), a Backstage Garland Award (Lighting Design), and several StageScene LA Awards (Lighting and Projection Design).
A professional member of the Association of Lighting Designers and Theater Communications Group, KC’s work has been published in Live Design, Lighting and Sound America, Stage Directions, Sound & Communications, and Entertainment Design. He speaks regularly and conducts workshops at theater and lighting conferences such as LDI, LightFair, the International Thespian Festival; and is on the board of directors for California Thespians.

Seth Rudetsky
Seth worked many years on Broadway as a pianist for shows like LES MIZ, PHANTOM, RAGTIME as well as a sub conductor for shows like THE PRODUCERS, GREASE and VICTOR/VICTORIA. He spent two years as a comedy writer on THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW (three Emmy nominations) and wrote the “Diva” opening number for her that featured Patti LuPone, Jennifer Holliday and Betty Buckley. He is now the afternoon deejay on the SiriusXM Broadway channel as well as the host of “Seth Speaks” He’s performed the show you’ll see today (DECONSTRUCTING BROADWAY) in London, Boston (Irne award) and L.A. (with Barbra Streisand in the audience!). He co-wrote and co-starred in DISASTER! (NY TIMES crictic’s pick!) on Broadway which was just licensed by Music Theater International and has it’s first High School production this Spring! As an author, he’s penned SETH’S BROADWAY DIARY VOLUME 1 (cover quote by Nathan Lane) and Volume 2 (cover quote by Lin-Manuel Miranda) and has also authored two young adult novels; “MY AWESOME/AWFUL POPULARITY PLAN” and “THE RISE AND FALL OF A THEATER GEEK” (Random House). He and his husband James Wesley produced the “What The World Needs Now Is Love” recording with Broadway Records featuring amazing singers like Idina Menzel, Audra MacDonald, Rene Elise Goldsberry, Brian Stokes Mitchell and so many more to help the victims and families of the Orlando shooting.
